Frequently Asked Questions
PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR ORDER:
Will I be charged sales tax?
GatorBlinds.Net, Inc. is a Florida based Corporation and required to collect 6.25% Florida sales tax on all orders.
How long before I receive my order?
Turn around time varies depending on the product ordered, and your location in relation to that of the maufacturing plant. Approximate production and shipping times are listed on each individual product's page. If we are informed that a product is on back order and it will delay your order, we will contact you immediately. Once the order ships, the travel time is determined by your location.
WHEN PLACING YOUR ORDER:
What do you mean by inside or outside mount?
INSIDE MOUNTS hang completely inside the recessed area of the window's opening when sufficient window depth is available. Inside Mounts, the most common way of hanging blinds, provide a neat, clean look.
OUTSIDE MOUNTS hang outside the window above and beyond the opening (Example would be a sliding glass patio door as most do not have an inside recessed area). Usually due to insuffient opening depth, outside mounts may also be the only option because a handle or other hardware prohibits the mount to made inside the opening. Some situations allow for ouside mounting on wood trim or casing. Outside Mounts are also used to make a window appear larger or to hide an unattractive window.

What does the term color coordinated mean?
Color Coordinated coverings using components similar in color but, not always exact in color, are common to all manufacturers. Exact color matches of secondary parts such as tassels, strings or other parts of a covering with the primary color are rarely possible. The color choices offered for the primary components, slats, louvers, fabrics and so forth, are far too extensive, and change too frequently to always have exact color matches. Designer selected, color coordinated components assure you that all our coverings provide the desired look. Should you have specific color concerns, please call or email our Customer Service department using the contact information listed at the top of website.

Faux Wood Blinds are one of the most popular window blinds today and with good reason. These imitation wood blinds look like real wood blinds, but are more durable and cost less than wood blinds. Made of man-made products, these blinds will not warp, splinter or fade like natural wood blinds can due to their natural material. The term "Faux Wood" means "fake wood" or "imitation Wood" so Faux Wood means that these blinds are not made of real wood.
Faux Wood blinds blinds are available in both painted and stained slat finishes and look so close to real wood blinds, most people will not be able to tell the difference. Faux Wood blinds are great for high moisture areas like Bathrooms and the garage where reall wood blinds could warp and crack.
As popular as Faux Wood blinds are, most people call them Fox Wood blinds, foxwood blinds, fax wood blinds, faxwood blinds or misspell them as Fuax wood blinds, fuaxwood blinds or fauxwood blinds. The correct spelling is "Faux Wood blinds" or "Faux-wood blinds".
For the best price on Faux Wood Blinds in Gainesville, Faux Wood blinds in Ocala or Faux Wood blinds in Lake City call Gator Blinds. Gator Blinds has the best price on Faux Wood blinds in Florida and we back that claim with our 110% best blinds price guarantee. If you are looking for Faux Wood blinds in Alachua County, Faux Wood blinds in Marion County, Faux wood blinds in Columbia County or faux wood blinds in north central florida, Gator Blinds is the name to remember.

Vertical blinds have a great deal more options than they used to--no longer are you limited to floppy, lightweight plastic. Now, you can find verticals in sheer fabric, fabric with vinyl backing, embossed vinyl as well as wood and faux wood, giving you virtually unlimited options for covering patio doors, sliding glass doors, and large windows. Verticals are also great for playing with a room's perspective. Don't have the cathedral ceiling you've always wanted? Vertical blinds can lengthen the look of a room and keep the eye moving up and down. Using monochromatic colors and verticals is the number one way to make a room appear taller.
Vertical blinds are also wonderful for creating a minimalistic effect. This is a great way to play down colored carpet, if you happen to be stuck with a previous owner's color choice. Keep your walls white and your window treatments simple, and let the colored carpet become the focus of the room. You can also soften the room's look with filmy, flowing draperies for a more delicate appearance, even with a bright or loud carpet color.
Another great decorating tip for making a room seem large is to hang vertical blinds on a long window or sliding glass door and place a large square mirror on an adjacent wall. This opens up a play of light between the larger and smaller "windows," and tricks the eye into seeing more space than there is.
When decorating with verticals, don't forget about color. Fabric-backed vinyl verticals can give any room a shot of much-needed color. If the idea of cobalt blue or bright yellow verticals doesn't appeal to you, you can still infuse your rooms with color. Choose a softer, more neutral shade like sage green, gray, cream, peach, or dusty rose. Then, accent your room with darker and deeper tones of that color. For example, if you choose sage green verticals, use a deep hunter green for accents like sofa pillows, artwork, candles, or even foliage.
Cellular Shades (also known as Honeycomb Shades) are great for light and temperature control as well as Privacy and sound absorption. Light Filtering Cellular Shades provide a warm glow and let light filter through while blocking direct sunlight. Choose a blackout Cellular Shade if you need total darkness in areas such as bedrooms.
Unlike Pleated Shades, Cellular shades do not have holes that can let light enter the room. The lift cords are hidden between the cellular fabric of a Cellular Shade so there are no visible string holes or strings to let light in and take away from the beauty of the fabric.
These shades are energy efficient to help keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Add a Top Down/ Bottom Up feature to add to the versatility of this shade by allowing the shade to be lifted from the bottom up or lowered from the top down. Add the convenience of a Continuous Cord Loop or Cordless option and eliminate dangling cords that can be a child safety hazard.
